Hi,

Sony's new XDCAM XE camera records Mpeg2.
It should already be possible then to edit with Edius allready?

Nothing new under the sun here?

If you're talking about the E1, it's .mp4 in a .mxf wrapper... not .mp2
The HVR-V1u is .mp2.

.mp4 supported in v4.56... sooooooon!

Strange...

It seems that it is MPEG-2 [email protected] & MPEG-2 [email protected] but in an MPEG 4 wrapper, the camera has HDV out and 2 modes SP and HQ.
The website definately says long gop Mpeg2 in the sales film on Sony's Website, recording to SxS Pro cards.

Edius Pro will now edit the (low rez) 1440 x 1080 .mp2

Edius Broadcast 4.6 will edit the native 1920 x 1080 .mxf due out in Q1/2008.

Don't forget, If you capture by HDSDI or analog, Edius will edit 1920x1080 uncompressed or mjpeg captured by other editing/capture cards.
