  • The interface?

    Hi Folks,

Can anyone please tell me how I set up a second computer screen so I can have two going at one time? I would like to be able to spread the info, i.e. bin window & info' onto a second screen. My computer has two VGA outlets but only one is showing a conection. Do I need any software or anything?

    Thanks!

Just put your cursor on the edge and drag it over to the other screen.

Make sure your connection is good, and right mouse click on your desktop and go into settings and configure your display card there.

Thanks - I did that - i.e. went to settings, from there clicked NVidia Control Panel, chose the displays I wanted (Dell 2007WPF + Gateway FPD1975W) I then clicked the button Configure independently from each other (Dualview) and pressed apply. However, though I have my edius running on the right side monitor, all that shows up on the left monitor is the name of my computer (XPS) and I'm still not able to "drag" anything over into it. Do you have any other suggestions please?

          With thanks

Make sure you have the monitors in the correct position. Try dragging your mouse on both sides of the monitor and see if it continues onto the second monitor. Depending on how it is hooked up, sometimes dragging to the left will allow things to appear on the right monitor.

Have you checked the "orientation" of the monitors, according the NVIDIA control panel?

The best thing for you might be to run the multi-display wizard. Provided that the second monitor is properly detected by the control panel, you'll see options for it within the menus.

Oh - I "simply" physically moved the left monitor to the right. Just never worked with two monitors before - it's great, I can now have the FX panel, Info' panel and bin window open all at the time on a seperate monitor and just drag things over!

Or you could have swapped the leads into the monitors.

A little OT but MultiMon from Media Chance is a great little free tol that puts a task bar on the bottom of the second monitor and allows for quickly switching windows from one monitor to the other.

Free utility limitation is that both monitors must be the same resolution. Beware :-).
