Last I checked, Service Pack 3 for Windows XP had not been officially released...
Sure it wasn't SP2?Comment

windows only sees 2GB of Ram, this is normal
you can edit the boot.ini and add a 3GB switch
then windows may see 3GB or the PC will fail to boot, in which case you need to boot in safe mode and remove the 3GB switch
search google for 3GB switch and you should get 1000s of resultsAnton Strauss

The Asus mainboards support a few FSB speeds and also Memory speeds. With PC-6400 memory (800MHz) you will only see 2GB available and 2GB appropriated in the BIOS. You will find that if you run PC-5300 (667MHz) memory that you will show the full 4GB of memory available in the BIOS. I run the X6800 (2.93GHz Dual Core) which has the same 1066 FSB as your Q6600 (2.4GHz Quad Core). With PC-5300 memory it shows all 4GB. Systems that I have configured with any of the new 1333 FSB CPU i.e. E6850 (3.00GHz Dual Core) have had the same issue of not being able to see 4GB of memory in the BIOS. I have tried all the BIOS versions and over 6 types of PC-6400 memory and all report 2GB. Not really a big deal while running 32bit XP though. Better to have shear CPU power.George Dame

OK. Thank you for advices. But ,there is only one solution for me - transition to Vista 64. Everyhing works fine ,but canopus nx doesn't have 64bit driver.custom PC No 1 ; mdb: Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3, cpu: i7 2600K, vga 1: 2x nvidia gainward GTX 670 (2GB), vga 2: intel ,ram: kingstone hyperx ddr3 16GB, sys HDD: SSD Transcend 128GB, monitors: 3x LG L225WT dvi, 1x plasma tv LG 50PK350 nle: HD SPARK, OS: windows 7 x64 ultimate

There's no roadmap currently for 64bit support of HX-E1/E2 hardware (EDIUS NX, SP). As soon as we have information, we will be sure to make it known far and wide.
