  • Multi-cam In Edius 7.5 number keys stopped working

One of the 4 Edius 7.5 workstation PCs I have at the local cable station has suddenly stop allowing me to use the number keys in multi-cam mode. Instead it cuts using the mouse (little camera icon) hovering over the preview monitor screen. I am much more use to using the number keys, especially with 3 or 4 sources. Any suggestions how to change this cutting method back to the keyboard?

Have you checked if the Numeric Lock is on. You probably know that the number keypad keys cuts to a camera only when playing, but did you know if you hold the Ctrl key down + keypad number you can cut to a camera without playing.

      Num Lock info

Turning Num Lock "ON" seems to got it to working again, never notice it needed to be on before. Thanks for the tips.

...and if you don't hold down the CTRL key...you can cut to a camera without playing.

In other words you do NOT need to hold down the CTRL key

Maybe I missed a setting in EDIUS 8 but without playing or holding down the CTRL key it only changes the camera and not actually cut the clip at the edit cursor. Do you know what setting changes this action? Although I wouldn't want the number keyboard to have this shortcut without hold down the CTRL key.

That is correct but in practice, invariably I find that when I am refining with a stationary cursor (playhead), it is to switch a previous edit track or to just move a cut point. When it looks right, C or SHFT C adds the cut if required, which for me is preferable than a CTRL Z to undo.
