  • Brighter still from Edius

When I create still from Edius image looks brighter. But when I create still from export clip with GV Browser image looks good. Why is that?

Hi mate! I noticed something similar exporting a still with the save as feature resulted in a milky looking image both png and jpg. The whites were all wrong.
Edius 8.3. I'll have another look today.

that will only happen if you reload the image to the bin if the EDIUS setting for RGB is on White (the EDIUS default)

after changing to super white, reload the image to bin

Still is a super white on Edius BIN. And it looks good. But in external browser or after upload on web is washed out.

Hi Anton! It's not a problem in Edius but the still can't be used outside of Edius such as a thumbnail for Vimeo or YouTube. This never used to be a problem.

Edius does the compensation if the right luma range is applied (superwhite).
You have to compensate the levels by shifting 16-235 luma range -> 0-255 luma range manually if you use it in different software!
You can even load it to Photoshop and apply the correct color space profile (HDTV rec.709 16-235) so Photoshop does compensation for you!

Also if you switch the properties to white in the bin and then open in Photoshop, FROM THE BIN, you should find the image is correct so resave (as).
