  • Losing Audio through Storm 3G (Edius 6.08)

I just picked up a HDMI splitter that allows me to monitor the HDMI video out of the Storm 3G card, and it splits the audio to RCA out so that I can monitor audio through my mixer and amp.

I've found that when I load certain sequences onto the timeline the audio goes away. If I go into System Settings>Hardware>Preview Device and toggle the STORM 3G output, the audio returns.

I'm wondering if others have experienced this, or if I should blame my HDMI splitter.

    Thanks,

    Doug Collins

    blame the splitter

get a Yamaha amp with HDMI in and out, works great, I have several HDMI sources connected and a simple switch allows me to go from one source to the other

my Amp has 5 HDMI in and one out, so the audio from the Yamaha is in perfect sync with video displayed on TV which is connected to Yamaha out (it also has many RCA in and out and you can connect 6 speakers for 5.1 surround)

the Amp also allows you to fine tune audio video delay in milliseconds

      Hi Anton,

I think that's good advice. It's just that a new amp is $300 plus dollars and this splitter was $14. I thought I'd give it a try.

The thing is, I don't really need to output through the Storm 3G anyway. It seems everything I do these days is straight off the timeline onto the internet.

      It's a different world now.

      Thanks,

You speak the truth. That's why I got the HDMI splitter. But I guess you get what you pay for.

          Thanks,
