  • Edius and Roxio ProHD anyone out their..

I've tried all suggestions so far, (and thanks for all the help) but I can't get the proper file format to export to Roxio Pro which will result in chapters where they should be. (Further into the Movie the more they are off ie at one hour, late by six seconds) all the help would be greatly appreciated. Gary

You would think that GV would have included a Blu-ray export template in the latest EDIUS build- no? attention to customer needs? Vegas and Premiere have it....anyway.

You can do it from ProCoder Express apparently (but i haven't tried), see Jerry's image

You can also do it with a ProCoder 3 3rd party plugin template http://ediusforum.grassvalley.com/fo...read.php?t=362 which definately works.

Whatever they say at GV about ProCoder doesn't matter to me- they are too uninterested in ProCoder's well being or that of it's users, nearing a year after release and no patches, they think all we need is DVD.

You're wrong there Mark. I know for a fact that patches have been and are being worked on. However the Procoder situation is a sticky one. That's all I can say, probably more than I should but I hate to read a post that GV ,"doesn't care". I have my moments of being frustrated with the way things work and how some decisions are made (or not made) but idea that it doens't matter what users want is just not true.

We can disagree- that's ok. Caring & Doing are different things, for example- "we care about this problem" but we wont allocate the resources to it right now because we have other things on our mind.
We have been told officially that ProCoder is Grass Valley's product so there should not be any sticky points, how hard is it to add a Blu-ray template?. gosh....close thread.

Hi Shueardm, my last test was "Jerry's image" video in HD and SD looked fine, the SD chapters were on the HD off...fyi I just posted on roxio's site and got a interesting reply on the fix from "Tom", I'll be trying it overnight, again...Gary

SD? Do you mean you are creating a DVD as well? I have not tried that so it may be an issue but my Blu-ray discs don't have the problem.

I first burned a Blu-ray where the Chapters were going off, so just for heck of it using the same volume file I switched the option from Blu-ray to DVD and the DVD looked fine and played chapters properly..PS take a look at the Roxio post, let me know their..so we won't be going off track here in Edius..Thanks for all the help. Gary

Ok, What player were you using to play the bluray? IF you were using a player with out of date firmware, that may be the difference. For example,
When I first tried DVDPROHD, about this time last year, I did a 1 1/2 hour project complete with multipage motion menus and motion within the scene selection panels on top of a motion menu. Fairly complicated! When I took it to the stores, remember... last year, it played with the sub mask all out of whack and some of the chapter points not being recognized properly.
It reacted differently on every machine I tried.
Mark can remember me complaining about this.

Fast forward a year! I purchased the Sony BDP-S1 and have installed all of the latest firmware updates. That same disc plays perfectly.
I still have DVDPROHD, but prefer to use Encore CS3 for my projects.

Also, do not rely on computer playback to judge the final.
