Using the Forum Search function with Phones and Tablets

Not if people use the search function. ;-)

When using a Android Note 3, After pressing the search button, it opens off screen, once you click in it, it disappears completely.

Search works better when using a browser on a PC.

I think a tutorial is needed and be made a stickie, after almost a decade on this forum I have not managed to get a grip on how to search and mostly revert back to Google to help me......

Hi Jerry, did you use phone or PC ?

I use 99% my phone to navigate the forum and it is mission impossible.

The search field disappears as soon as you click in it to type a word.
Was like this in Android version 3.x, 4.x and 5.x......

Search doesn't work for me either on Galaxy Tab S and Galaxy S5
As soon as i enter search and try to type, the keyboard quicky appears and then search box and keyboard disappear

It works on my Note 4. Click the search tab and when the panel opens press advanced.
With a tablet press search and hold until an option panel opens.
Select open in new tab. Then advanced should open.
This will work on the phone as well.

The search box opens off screen, once I touch the box, inside or outside it disappears.......

I have never been able to see the advanced options on any of my Android devices.
Not on my note 2, not in my note 3 or my Tab A.

Ok, this is interesting, I just tried press and hold, then select open in new tab, this indeed works ��

Pressing hold also works for me with Tab S as tabs are easy to see but bit more complicated with S5 but it does work

In any case, there is a bug in Search function.
I only choose Advanced Search on my TAB-S, but it's a pain ...
