    Hey,
i am mostly working with the same workflow(as i work with HVX a lot..), but until now i cant really do it in AE as it has no native P2 support so far...this will change with a update at the end of the year.

So i assume that you had the HVX-footage allready converted to an avi at a different point, right??

This should all work natively soon...so no conversion needed anymore..hopefully..full P2-mxf support and a working aaf-workflow..that will be sweet!

I TRIED USING DV FOOTAGE AND AAF WORKED GREAT ...
bUT FOR THIS ONE I'M USING HD FROM A pANASONIC cAMERA HVX-200:
    DVCPRO HD 760 X 720 59.94p
MAYBE I'M MISSING A CODEC OR SOMETHING

Try using Type 3 in the AAF options. That works for me with DV files.

    Jpowell ...
    I just tried it.
I do see the project on the timeline.
but i don't know why i have audio but i can't see the video, is just like a "white solid" ... and i have this message on the very top of each clip:
"Video not available, cannot find 'vids:dvh1' decompressor.
    BTW i have afx cs3.

Sure...do an AAF export from Edius 4.5+. Choose the option that just references the files instead of making copies.

Import the AAF file in After Effects and you should be looking at your timeline laid out AE-style. You can precompose all those layers to save space on your AE timeline.

Create your titles, then solo those title layers and render them out as Canopus HQ avi's with alpha. I would do them separately, to allow for easier placement once back in Edius.

You can then import the title renders into your Edius project and place them above your original timeline.

Only one render with this method, and the HQ codec is clean. You can also choose Canopus Lossless or Quicktime animation, but I think Edius still does a color shift on Quicktimes, so do some tests to see what looks best to you.

    Edius + After Effects workflow

I'm editing a infomercial with Edius 4.5, then i will import in after effects that edited material to add titles some cg elements and a overall final look.
But i don't want render from canopus, import that avi in After effects and then re-render again ...
What i mean is, that i don't want to loose quality at all.
Is there any way to import whatever i have in Edius timeline in AFX?

    Thanks in advance ...
Working...
