  • Basis Title Program

What do you think of Edius basis title program? I know you can buy for big $ add on title programs for Edius but look at what all other editing programs come with when it come to titles like Final Cut X, Etc..

It's a basic 2D titler, nothing more, nothing less. But, once you learn how to use it you can make very nice titles.

To animate it you can use either layouter or transform.

One have to deal with the clunky GUI and some strange behaviours
when you edit multi lined texts, but if you learned how ist works
and what does not work, you can do some nice things.
There are some known issues with some fonts.

While I can use Quicktitler with ease, I still prefer Vistitle as my main titler.

I use Heroglyph, and find it very easy, that is, after climbing the learning curve...it comes complete with some transitions and a variety of effects...I also used NewBlue Titler, which works fine as well, but it seems to crash Edius sometimes when making adjustments...I also am finding that Edius crashes on its own as well...it becomes unresponsive and sometimes there is a white border around the modules, and most times I have to use the Task Manager to get it closed.....This happens with or without NewBlue....

If you're having those types of problems with Edius, then there is something fishy with either the system or Edius installation.

Heroglyph 4 is the best of the bunch for handwriting. It also does a good map route effect.
Other than that, the title effects remind me of Title Gecko...just a little dated.

As far as NB TP4 goes, if you don't have a good CPU/GPU combination, you will have problems. NEVER go by the minimum requirements listed on any program.
