What was the previous version of Edius and was your Antivirus running at the time?

go to the uninstall programs section and look for GV Codec Packs or Canopus Codec packs, if you see any, uninstall them

you need to uninstall, 1, 2 and 4

            then reboot

then empty hidden Temp in appdata/local

            then update EDIUS

there is no need to install Codec options because EDIUS contains all codecs needed

              Thanks Anton!
Do you mean to emty all files and folders in this folder? (i use Windows 10Pro)
              C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp

For others who have the same problem: to see this folder you need to rightclick on your Windows icon/start icon then choose:(i had to translated this from a Dutch Windowsversion to English so it could be a little different!)
              control panel/
              appearance and personalization/
              Explorer options
              Choose the VIEW tab
now scroll down and choose "show hidden files".
When finished i returned back to the standard settings ("don't show hidden files")

yes, empty everything in this folder daily

some things you may need to skip like running antivirus etc, that is fine to skip

make a desktop shortcut, right click desktop, new shortcut, type: %Temp% and click ok

                now you have easy access

I did almost everything Anton told me, but because i was to much of a chicken i deleted only these 5 folders out of the Temp folder:
                    CodecOption7.31
                    EDIUS
                    EdiusTemp
                    Grass Valley
                    Grass Valley CrachDump

This worked for me, so i am up to date again ;)

                    Thank you so much Anton!!
                    Grtzz,

You should delete everything you can. There will be a few things that will not delete. Just skip those.
