  • Exporting Uncompressed v210 AVI and file is not compatible with Adobe Premiere

I exported a file in Edius using the Uncompressed v210 AVI 10bit YUV codec. The file works fine in Edius.

The person who wanted the file uses Adobe Premiere and says he can't open the file. So I figured he just didn't have the codec since he doesn't have Edius or use Grass Valley products. So I sent him this:

    GV_CodecOption_7.31_2939_Setup.exe

He installed it on his computer and Premiere still won't recognize the file. But it does play on his computer using VLC player.

Can anybody tell me what's going on? What codec does he need? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

V210 has nothing to do with GVCodecPack!
Ask him to install BM- or AJA-driver (the codec is part of it), so V210 shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you Andreas! Do you have a direct link to the codec download? Many thanks!

        Sorry, can't help better.
Just look into the support download areas (AJA Kona video card uses it for sure).
I'm using the LAV codec package. Other users do not suggest to install any codec package for maybe good reasons.#
I personally have no issues here regarding decoding any file.

Is it valid for CS6 too?

Maybe this works for AVI flavour in most apps.
The MOV flavour needs a codec package at all.
I can't sort out at the moment if my Premiere CS6
could decode it natively due to the installed codec pack.
