  • Edius 8 Pro

I want to start with a new version of Edius (Edius 8 Pro). I don't want to upgrade. I have the licenses on order. How do I get Edius 8 Pro so that I can install it, and apply the licenses (20 licenses)? Does Edius 8 Pro require you do download the trail version first or can you just get a version of Edius 8 Pro and install it on all the computers, then apply the licenses?

you will need to create an user ID ETC and register it then it will appear in your registered products list wher you can download it.
Dont confuse this with the old system this changed in Edius 8
Using the trial has given problems for SOME USERS
    Dont forget your ID.
Pro needs an internet conection to periodically validate the licence. Workgroup doesnt

There's no difference between the trial version and the paid version other than trial version needing to connect to the internet each time you open it and it stopping working after 30 days They are exactly the same installer, installing the same program, only the serial number denotes what parts get unlocked, so if people were having problems with the trial version then they would also have problems with the full version as they are the same program.

There's no need to make an ID just to download Edius itself, only if you want the DVD Menu backgrounds as they aren't included in the main installer. You can download the main installer from the trial download page and install it from that, you just can't use it without either a trial or full serial number.

You can only get the trial if you make and EDIUS ID and the trial can only be used once. The computer needs to go on the internet every time the trial is used.

So in this case, when you are asking about multiple licences, you could probably install EDIUS on all your machines but you will only be able to actually use the trial on one of them - the others will not let you pass the "enter your user ID" screen.

          Edius 8 Pro

So does that mean, I have to create an email, Password, and ID for each computer to run Edius 8, even if I have the licenses?

If you have installed it on multiple machines , go to the license manager (red icon on the notification are of the windows task bar. Select online activation , enter the serial number. Your commercial version will get registered with your ID.
If you activate them all you can manage them from one ID .

But the trial version is one machine per ID isn't it? I have to admit I never tried deactivating the trial during the 30 day period and putting it on another machine.

I do have several commercial licences on one EDIUS ID, so that definitely works.
