Problem solved!
Some time ago I did a search for the missing file. Among the result I found one sequence with a similar name that contained the missing file also marked missed. So all is fine and thank you for your input.

delete the "missing clip icon clip" from the bin and then save
maybe the missing clip is in a sub folder of the root bin?

No, this option is grayed out. There is little box in the relink window saying if checked that clips not on timeline will be removed. This does not help.
The window with missing clips still pops up on loading project.

Can you delete the clip from the Bin?
Also check the little box in the restore window that says something to the effect of do not include clips not on timeline

Peter,
I don't know if restore offline clip in the application setting has any setting that you can change.

Tony,
No I have tried that. Despite that I do not remember what it was!

Hi Peter, is it possible to recapture the clip you deleted, the one its asking for.

missing file while opening project
I had a clip in one of the sequencies that I deleted from the harddisk and is not used on the timeline. While the project opens a window pops up asking me to locate the missing file. I cannot find that file in the bin or on any timeline but it still asks me to relink. All works fine except this little disturbing factor every time when i open this project. I have to refuse relinking and just close the pop up window.
I have tried with other files with the exact file name but probably not exactly the correct properties because it is not accepted.
There must be a way to reset this!? But how?Tags: None
