  • Installing Edius 4.54

Ok, I downloaded v4.54, saved it in a folder, clicked on the "setupmanagerforEdius" and I get a window for a few seconds that says Preparing to setup, or something to that effect while the red line builds from left to right in the bottom part of the window,,,,, then nothing. The version info under help in the monitor window says 4.51, but the "select profile window at the startup of Edius says it was modified today.
Am I now updated to the version 4.54 or is something missing here?

It doesn't sound right - When I installed it, it worked as a normal upgrade, asking to restart and all.

I doubt your update has worked correctly since my version info says ver.4.54.

The only thing I can suggest is a re-install after uninstalling, and to manually delete all canopus folders.
When I go out, I wear my EDIUS T-Shirt.

Do you have an existing V4.x installation on that box, and an Edius 4 dongle?

I have all the upgrades prior to the 4.54 and they were working fine as far as I know. The system still works fine, but it just doesn't seem to want to load up the upgrades.

Ok, I deleted the temp files and tried running it again. Only the initial window that says the wizard is starting up and the red line builds across the bottom of the window.
I deleted the whole file then I went back on line and downloaded the update again, unzipped it again and hit setupmanager. Same thing again. Version is 4.51.

I'm looking in the direction of the Windows Install Wizard. I tried installing the 4.5 DVD and the machine does the same thing. So it probably isn't the update. I'll let ya know what I find.

I just recently installed it into a laptop with tons of other software with Media Center SP2, I just loaded the original 4.0 upgrade and then loaded the 4.54 upgrade with no problem, when you say you re-installed XP was that a clean from scratch installation??

I reinstalled Windows XP. The editing programs are all still on the machine. I'm not sure if I had SP2 installed before I reinstalled XP. It's been a while and I can't remember how to determine if SP2 is there.

Yes, I have full administrative rights.
