  • win10 I7 4790k quicksync

It probably has been asked before but I couldn't find the right answer back, I have a i7 4790k processor with a 4600gpu running under windows 10 pro and I cannot get quicksync running in EDIUS 8WG.
Quicksync was running fine on win 7 pro but as soon as I upgraded to win10 it was gone, I have tried different driver versions but no luck so far.

Anyone that has a similar setup and has a specific driver version that works?

    Here's the fix..

"Best driver is the one that ends 4300, I've found anything later doesn't seem to work with quicksync. If using Win 10 make sure you block driver downloads otherwise it will keep automatically updating to 4331 or whatever. This driver is for the ASRock Extreme6 motherboard only, which is 4th gen.

BTW, to block driver downloads, right click on START button, then pick SYSTEM, ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS, HARDWARE, DEVICE INSTALLATION SETTINGS..."

I was not able to find the exact drivernumber back but I guess this one is the same: win64_154010.4300?
Anyways, this driver did the trick, quicksync is working again, thx!

make sure you prevent Win10 from replacing the driver again

Microsoft already beat me to it and replaced the driver, they certainly make it very hard for you to control updates, took me a while to figure out how to hide certain updates from microsoft so they don't get reinstalled again.
