sticking DVD

I have a client with a DVD that sticks at a particular point , and then skips a few minutes of the project and play on...(CRC) error...think that is what it says..is there any way to recover that lost portion of the DVD.....

Do you still have the project on the Harddrive?

Did you create a DVD to store as a copy that doesn't have the error?

Try playing it on another player, and on your computer. That which won't play on one, may play on another.

I take it this is one that has been burnt, if so it is usually caused by the use of a poor quality DVD, but even good ones can fail and it is caused by the dye layer that is used to hold the data either not being consistent or is slowly disintegrating with time, temperature. They are not as durable as was originally thought. You may be able to recover by stripping the video file with Disk Capture or something like "DVD Decryptor" in File mode that should recover the video and would then need re authoring. BUT the faulty part is usually irretrievably lost.
