How to Use PIP

Hi, I was wondering if any of you editing gurus can help me with something. I want to use a jpeg of a book to open to the first scene in my video. How do I use PIP to do this?

3D-PiP may be a better choice than the Std. PiP.
Play with the Crop features to trim the sides. Default setting trim 10% off the top & bottom too, so watch out!

Thank you for your reply, Rusty. I was using 3D PIP. I was trying to position the book in such a way that the corner of it turns to reveal the opening scene. I will try messing with the crop setting.

Okay the crop settings are set to 10. I still can't figure out how to make it look like the book is opening to my first scene. Do I need to use Page Turn in addition to the 3D PIP?

Curious--Why is the Page Turn itself not sufficient for what you are trying to do?

Xplode Pro 4.5 (free foe Edius users) also comes with a built in Photo Album opener effect, you can add your own jpg or even a still from the first frame of your video, then the album openes showing the still, then the still becomes full screen, then you can play the video

you can also customize the name on the front cover of the Album and change the background texture of cover and pages

Yes Anton. Explode 4.5 seems like a good option but each time i try to download the huge file it breaks ie: d/l is incomplete. Since the canopus site doesn't support continuing a d/l i have had to restart the d/l on each of my attempts to grab it but then it fails too.

Am i the only one having this problem? Is it possible for the file to be put on an ftp site that supports continuing d/ls?

I believe (from memory) the way canopus download area is set up, you must not use any download manager software

When i try to download it opens up the default explorer download dialogue box linked to canopus.vo.llnwd.net. is this the link u mean? is there an ftp site i can d/l from?

BTW.. i see you have updated your signature to edius 4.54. Does this mean you're happy with the fixes and now confident to move from 4.03?

I downloaded Xplode 4.5 (in legacy products)

I have not tried downloading Xplode 4.51, maybe the file has a problem?

I am with Roy on this one and have done it lots of times....put the jpeg on a track above the opening video and use layout to size and position the jpeg like you want then use a page peel in the keyer track for the jpeg and make it open however you want using all the changeable settings in page peel. Make a still of the first frame of the video if you want it to fully open before it plays and use that until the peel is over.

I have this problem trying to download 4.51 xplode. It downloads but cannot unzip.

download 4.5 go to task file and extract all. NOT setup.
