  • SONY HDV 50i slowed down 25p Timeline

    Hello world.

I have been playing with some of my old underwater footage shot on the Sony 3CCD FX1 HDV camera and want to say the 50% slow mo when applied to it in a 1920/1080 25p timeline is very nice indeed.

Edit in EDIUS 8 then output in 10 bit - Lanczos.
I remember EDIUS had to covert to Canopus AVI files as the tape was sucked in back in the HDV days so it could edit it, now it cuts native HDV files piece of cake. :-)

The new primary colour corrector is very good indeed too.

We have come a long way.

Interlaced has always been good at 50%.
That's all I miss about it.

It was good in it's day, but I have so much underwater footage shot on it, nice to know I can still use it.
