Making a DVD with 16X9 and 4X3 on same disc.

M*A*S*H was great - Pillarboxed is fine :) Much better than stretched or zoomed 4:3.

I agree most with this suggestion, Let the DVD player do the work.

I would use a double DVD case and make 2 individual disks

on the other hand, why not make only 4x3 since this is the source format, 16:9 users can select normal view and they will see it pillar boxed, I watch all my MASH and for those who remember BONANZA episodes that way

Well the video was originally shot as 4x3 and I re-edited it with added graphics and pics to make a 16x9 but wanted both versions available on a single DVD. I guess another option would be Double Sided DVD and put each version on each side? hmmm. I was just hoping there was a work around.

making a DVD with 4:3 and 16:9 is easy with DVD Lab Pro, it requires multiple VTS with a VMG menu, but I totally don't recommend it

simply make it 16:9, it will look fine on 4:3TV (letterboxed, people are used to it)

be sure you set the 16:9 flag when you do the encoding

I want to make a DVD with a menu that will allow you to choose your format, meaning 2 chapters on the same dvd but one is widescreen (16x9) and the other is 4x3 version. Since you cannot have 2 sequences within the same project each with different screen formats, then what do yo do?

Sounds simple i suppose, just import a 4X3 video into a 16X 9 project and choose "make a DVD" but I'm not sure this is the right way. Do I stretch the 4x3 to fit the widescreen or just leave it with bars on the sides?
