Only yesterday I downloaded and installed Edius 8 as a trial version. I'm happy with a few new features and performance improvement but overall it seems like it hasn't changed much since version 7. I get a bit confused, though, with this "always on-line" thing. Is it true that the registered software only works with a permanent connection? If so, what happens if an editor needs to be, say, on a set that has no wifi or Internet connection at all? I mean, more than often this is the case for me, despite the fact Edius is not my main editing software...

The permanent online is only on the trial version. If you buy 8 Pro then it needs to connect every 30 days to check the license, and if you buy Workgroup it only needs to activate when you installDVC Built Clevo P775DM3-G Laptop with UHD screen, 7700K [email protected], Geforce GTX 1060 6GB GPU, 500GB M.2 Primary, 1x 480GB SSD, 1x1TB M.2, 1x 2TB 5400RPM Video drives, external Blu-ray Optical
