  • Saving modded effects

When a modified effect is saved as a user preset it shows in the effect tree with the name that I assign it. When the effect is subsequently used on the timeline the name shown in the information palette reverts to the original preset name. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
Also I want a 50% vertical split screen effect. I thought this would be easy but the SMPTE wipe is not keyframeable. Currently using a 50% luminance key. Anyone got any better ideas?

Easy, use a 3d Picture in Picture. Put your clip on top of each other. Put a 3d PnP on the upper track. Use the crop tool to crop the left side of the upper track....move it to 500 for half way. Then use the position tool (X axis) to slide the clip to the right. If you want a colored border you can activate the colored border in the PnP as well. Pretty easy to do and RT as well. :-)

If you have a multi effect preset saved you will see that when you apply that preset that the original effects are listed and you can then adjust them.

So even though you rename the preset the Filters inside the preset remain the same :)

I don't! I love the way that I can pick the custom preset by name and after I apply it I know exactly what filters were in that preset.

I can adjust settings quickly this way without guess work.

Now, I could see the preset name with a + by it and it would open into all the original filters used. That might work for all :)
