  • jump upgrade info request

I purchased 7 jump upgrade, installed it and it's currently running on win 7 prof.

Because a few studios I edit for are still on 7, I cannot upgrade to 8 at the moment. But I was thinking about it today and was wondering a few things:

    1. do I need to go to WIN 10?
    2. I was assured the upgrade can be used whenever (I bought it in time, just not used). I still have all the necessary docs etc. Was I informed correctly?

Anyone can answer, please, but asking GV Admins in the know.
    Thanks, all!

You don't necessarily need to go to Win 10 to run Edius 8.1.
Before I go further I will say that I'm very partial to Win 10.
I have 8.1 on both Win 7 and Win 10.

So, the GUI issues aside, Edius 8.1 performs faster on Win 10. Also, if you are using h.264 files, you will get a bit of a boost if your system has an Intel chip capable of Quick Sync. This is on either Win 7 or Win 10.
