  • Edius Workgroup 8 draft playback?

Is there a way in Edius Workgroup 8 to play back the timeline in draft quality rather than full?

Playing back Prores 444 shots is proving to be strenuous work for my 5-year old laptop. Using the shift-space keyboard shortcut is only useful for a couple of seconds before the frame buffer catches up to 0 again!

You can create Proxies and work off of them. A new lower resolution playback feature is coming in the future.

Is there a procedure to create proxies currently in Edius?

Absolutely. Go Mode and you will see Proxy mode there where you xn turn it on if you like. You might check the Help file to see your various options.

You can also convert to HQ or HQX for easier playback.
