  • Weird Edius 5.5 problem

I am having an unusual problem with Edius 5.5. This is something that is difficult to explain so I am including a picture. We had a user editing a quick VO for our noon news. She ingested her video and edited the material. Then two clips on her timeline faded as though the clips were locked (almost looked like a video track that is locked). She attached her video to the play-out server and there were black holes where the two clips were faded. The video clip on timeline was still in the bin and you could pull it down to the timeline and everything worked from that point.

I have never seen this before (5-6 years using this system). We are using Edius 5.5 on HP z800 workstations. We have Intel Xeon processors at 2.2ghz each, 8 gigs ram, on windows 7 pro. Edius is installed on the workstation; video is housed on a central server in the station.

It looks like they accidently turned off or muted the clip. click on the clip and type 0 (zero). That toggles the clip On and Off. People sometimes accidently hit zero when they are trying to type O for an outpoint.

Anton, for Broadcast here, the audio is set correctly. Audio tracks are mixed downstream of the edit.

That was it. I feel like an idiot for posting the problem because two minutes after the post I realized what was wrong and fixed it. My post didn't show up until after I forgot about it. Thanks for the help though.
