I'm trying to increase the use of my Mac (Yosemite) within my Edius projects, having just upgraded to Edius8wg, and notice that when I export a HQX mov and transfer it to the Mac: (a) Motion opens and works with it (Great) but when I just play it in QT (b) QT player insists on converting it. What's going on here?

More or less retired now. Still on the Essex(UK) coast. Edius 8.2wg all sorts of other, more or less redundant kit - production & Post. -
Thanks. I guessed it was something like that. Will QT7 give me much else? On my old MacBookPro I have QTpro which allows transcoding and other options- is that a thing of the past now?Alan.
