I have a client who gave me clips shot on a Sony Handycam that I need to edit in Edius 6. She gave me the camera too. What is the best way to convert them to 1080 so I can put them on the timeline? Thanks.

Not sure what format your clips are but I have E6.5 and can import and edit UHD 3840 x 2160 clips from GH4 camera .mov files in an HD project ok. Remember to set project resampling to Lanczos for downscaling. Not sure if E6 has lanczos scaling option so you may need to check this. Hope this helps PeterLast edited by Peterjames; 12-04-2015, 07:57 PM.i9-7900X OC, Asus TUF X299 Mk2 MB, 32GB Mem, 250GB Samsung 960 Evo M,2 NVMe for OS, HDDs for work files, GTX1080Ti 11GB, Win10 Pro 1809, Edius 8.5 WG, Sony FS7 main camera

I have not use it but GV has a small utility program called AVCHD2HQ on their website (user support section) that you can download to convert certain types of compressed files to HX or HQX avi files for editing . Not sure if it can downscale but I expect there are others that can confirm this. I use Handbrake but mostly for final compressed delivery to web etc. Peteri9-7900X OC, Asus TUF X299 Mk2 MB, 32GB Mem, 250GB Samsung 960 Evo M,2 NVMe for OS, HDDs for work files, GTX1080Ti 11GB, Win10 Pro 1809, Edius 8.5 WG, Sony FS7 main camera
