  • New Favorites Effects

I have updated the Effects Favorites folder for EDIUS 9 (though it should work fine on 8.xx).

To use, unzip the file and save it to a location. Then go into the Effect Tab, right click on the top Effect folder, right click and select Import. Navigate to the location where you saved the file and click Open. Some of these I have provided before, but note that I changed most of those effects from Layouter to Transform so that you can drop multiple Transforms on one clip if desired.

Special thanks to Jerry who provided a few of the effects.

Thank you Pat......always good to have more presets.

Perhaps it might encourage others to post their favourites to share?

I have encouraged that several times without much success. It would be nice for people to share.

Here is 4 XFADES that require BORIS RED 5
Media Studio Pro had a great Xfade called "Additive XFADE"
The clip coming from behind came through with the brightest part first and then took over the track
There are 4 of these in the zip and use different techniques to achieve the result, it will depend a little on the clips as to which one works best
If there are dark patches on the first clip the new clip will appear in these areas first, if they are similar then the brightest parts will appear first

Try them and see what you think
NOTE: You must have BORIS RED 5 for these to work

          Regards Barry

Thanks. Sharing presets is a great idea!
Sorry if this is off topic, but I saw this post about some free starter effects Edius 8 from NewBlueFX?
I didn't see a link anywhere. Has anyone been able to find these?
            Thanks

                New Favorites Effects

                Hi Barry

Love the Boris effects. Also brings back good memories of Media Studio Pro (excellent NLE for it's time).

I would like to share some of my effects that I have created. Do I just copy the shortcut from the (My Favorites Folder that I created) onto the forum and do I have to ZIP the file.

                Regards and thanks.

Thank you for the great presets. My question is, do you unzip them to the Edius Fx folder or to the presents folder contained in it?

Unzip them to a local location on your computer. Then go into EDIUS and the Effects Palette. Right click on Effects, choose Import and then navigate to wherever you saved the file. That's all there is to it.

You unzip them in a separate folder and then import them into the effects palette.
