  • Edius 6.x import subtitle files into program / output as title?

Hi, searched the forum before asking this question about titles. Is there a way in Edius 6.0x or 6.5x to natively import a subtitle file (a group to an an entire move) and output as simple titles on the screen? Importing as csv as a marker is easy; but so far other than Vegas Pro i don't know of a way to import as an actual title and show on the screen.

If need be, i can import the subtitle file into another program, render, and then import as a video track to overlay onto the existing video file.

The movie is about 2 and a half hours long. Doing this process manually, scene by scene, would take several hours to days.

    Again, thank you.
Still learning Edius, not even middle grade user yet.

This Tutorial of mine might give you some ideas.

It shows Boris RED with Avid Media Composer, but the workflow will work with any version of EDIUS that has Boris RED installed as well.

Douglas Bruce of Gaijin-Eyes relies on the flexibility and control of Avid FX/Boris RED when using subtitles. Learn how to format your subtitles properly, i...

There is currently no way to do this natively in Edius.
However, Vistitle will allow import of subtitle files and editing within Edius and the Vistitle subtitle GUI.

If you're going to disc, you won't have an issue. Edius doesn't have the ability to export controllable embedded subtitles.
You will need a third party program to combine the two after the fact.

If you want a hard burn then that won't be a problem with Edius.
