Try downloading the 8.1 update again.
Did you use a download manager ?

Try a different download manager or download with the standard downloader build in your browser.

Install without any Antivirus running etc.

Version 8.10_0188 will not install in to Windows 10

I have just been told by support that Edius 8.1 will still not install in to windows 10. Even though it goes through the entire motion accepts my registration, and the licence manager recognises the serial number, the software fails at my edius ID.

Anyone know why we have to have an "Edius ID"???

My version 7 worked perfectly fine in windows 10? So why would this unnecessary identification system not work with Windows !0.

2 Days and Support has failed to even answer my call for support.

Does anyone have any solution to this problem as obviously Grass Valley does not.....

I have it installed and working fine on Windows 10 (same with version 8) and as they say that 8.1 is Windows 10 certified I'm not sure why they would tell you otherwise?

Same here, both 8 and 8.1 installed fine, although I didn't put 7 on first I used a clean install of Win 10 Pro 64 and no antivirus software. I've installed it on a few Win 10 Pro systems for clients now with no install issues.

Whoever it was at support who told you it wouldn't install into Windows 10 needs re-training, the whole point of 8.1 is that it's Win 10 compliant. It's even on the download page and in the readme that it supports Win 10

Like the others I have installed EDIUS 8.1 on Windows 10 many times (we are a system builder), so it definitely works and something about your system is stopping it. The information above unfortunately tells me nothing.

Are you logged on as an administrator? What happens if you right click on the installer and sat run as administrator? Plus as every one else says turn of anti virus etc..

You need an EDIUS ID if you are using the Pro version. You have to logon to Grass Valley with it before you can run EDIUS. It is part of the copy protection system. You should be able to finish installing the software without having an EDIUS ID, so this is not your problem. If you have workgroup you do not need an EDIUS ID.

Did you get the name of the person who gave you that information. This person is absolutely wrong.

With all of the issues your are having my recommendation
would be to start from scratch. It sounds as if something on the disc is causing issues. Do a completely clean install of Win 10. This means everything on the drive is wiped out. Not an upgrade.

This is how I did my installs.

installing the workgroup version, i did not use any download manager. the interesting this is version 8 gave the same error is it is not the download. This is a fairly new install of windows 10 enterprise. i am running Mcafee antivirus. there must be something with the gv license manager install, i see edius install and create shortcuts.

Update- I do not think it is antivirus related. I just was able to install on a test windows 10 laptop with no issues and has the same antivurus. It is a different model Dell. I have had no issues installing other applications so not sure why this one has an issue.

Majority of Edius problems, being it installation or operational issues is Antivirus related, that is a fact.

do you also have windows defender enabled and or microsoft security essentials installed?

I am not familiar with Win10 so I am only guessing

also, is the temp folder empty?
