I have seen the same issue shown in the second post - diagonal lines on a portion of a clip - once in EDIUS 7. I have not see the missing alpha track you mention. It has only happened to me personally on one project. I have had two customers with the same problem on one project only (every other project for them was fine).

I tried to reproduce it and send the info to GV to investigate but cannot. The project is basically corrupt and the only solution is to stay away from that section or start a new project. I have never had in in V8 but since I only had it once in two years of constant use of EDIUS 7 it could simply be that it has not happened yet.

Does this happen on every project or just this one?

In my case the project was created in 6.02.... Maybe that's the problem... But I have friends that told me it works very well to open an old project created before version 7 or 7.5 and to work in higher version of Edius like 7.50.228.

If you work in a BAD project like I have, and you have this problem and you do not want to give up, the best thing is to pay attention and when you see that kind of crash you have to Undo and to put the clip in a position where it s ok, or to put the clip on a upper or lower track.

Now, i'm testing: i've made a project in 7.50.228, a new one, and i'll try to edit in it to see if the problem still appear.

But maybe can tell us why it's happening this... We just have suppositions.

The strange one, beside that strips lines is the error shown in picture "another error" : runtime error, R6025, pure virtual function call.... About this ...I don't know what to say.

My supposition about old project opened in a new version i think it doesn't stand because i ve read about a guy that work for national polish tv that have the same problem...and him works in project created in curent version...not in a older one....

          So ?

I get diagonal lines on clips that I have trimmed in Resolve and exported back to Edius the lazy way by simply overwriting the original clip while Edius is still running. Edius is wondering where the rest of the clip disappeared to, I do of course, my hidden hands at work behind the scenes...

But that is normal and should not cause the crashing the OP mentions. The problem I have seen is the pattern above in clips which are all there and you can even play all the way through, but if you select them or try to remove then EDIUS crashes. It has been quite rare.

Hmm, well at least it's good to know my overwriting of clips direct from Resolve is not likely to crash Edius.

                thanks David.

                  Here it is :

When does happen the error. As you saw in video, when you put a clip on two clips that have a transition between them, the timeline crash !

It s a software problem not a problem of old or new projects...

And the other error "runtime error, R6025, pure virtual function call" is about how Edius use resources...an incompatibility some how....

If You Know anything elese please post !
