  • Clips disappeared and are offline in bin but not sequence. Unable to restore

    Hey guys
I was editing this weeks old project on our work server and when I tried to export it it failed. I saved the project and reopened it but the files were offline in the bin. Normally when my files go offline the clips in the sequence also have lines through it but these clips dont.

I then went through the restore process but the files would not restore.

All of the files are still in the same place in my project folder. I've also tried restoring different autosaves and I get the same problem.

    Using Edius 6.07

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and has a solution?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

That is really strange, can you open a brand new project and go to import sequence and import that project sequence over?

      Hey thanks for your reply.

When I import the sequence over into a different project the same thing happens. Files unlinked in bin but not in sequence. Still not able to export.

can you inspect one of the missing bin thumbnails properties to see what drive and folder is supposed to hold the file, then make sure that folder can be accessed using windows explorer and that the file exists and plays in windows media player

are they stored on a network drive by any chance?

There is almost no information in the Clip Properties dialog. The Name and Path both just have the date and time of the clip.

The initial project was on a shared work server. I've tried moving the project to my desktop but I get the same error

copy from my PM to this location since users post won't show if he posts it here:

Hey I tried to reply to this thread yesterday but the posts won't go through

              http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=36592

When I inspect the clip properties the name and path is just the date and time of the clip

All of the clips are still in the "Transferred" folder inside my project folder and all of them play in Windows Media Player fine.

The initial project was stored on a server at work. I've since tried to move the project to my desktop but I get the same problem in Edius

there is something very strange going on

all I can suggest at this stage is start a new project and copy all files from transferred folder to new project folder and re-edit
