V3.5 and 4.5 on the same machine

Hi Gang

Can Edius 3.5 and 4.5 live on the same machine? I want to start using 4.5 but I have a lot of 3.5 projects around that I want to be able to work on too.

4.5 is backward compatible. Projects made in 3.5 will edit perfectly well in 4.5.

As Fred says, you can import 3.5 projects into 4.5, but there is no method of going back the other way.

The two applications cannot be installed on the same system at the same time - you'll end up with conflicts of shared libraries, and codecs that are overwritten for v4.5, that won't work properly in v3.5.

I have 3.62 and 4.51 on the same machines, and have no known issues....they both work ok...I installed 4.51 first, then 3.62, and that is because i want to use Photo Album for my wedding jobs, and I like the multicam of v4....wish that someone could come up with a plugin like photo album, or better.....or build something to have this legacy program to work in V4....what a waste...
