Cannot Use Edius

I am stuck in a complete loop. All of a sudden cannot load Edius because of a license manager problem. When I uninstall, I cannot fully deactivate, so it shows:

So then I do uninstall, and I perform the deactivation later. So Edius uninstalls.

Then I reinstall, and I get this:

I am impossibly trapped and cannot run Edius. So any help! I called yesterday and told them and they have not emailed me in response, which they said they would do.

Antivirus turned off during the whole process.

Finally when I filed with tech support, they told me that apparently I didn't uninstall an old licence, which would be because the C drive on my laptop died and was replaced. So they deactivated it for me out of 'good will' - but while trouble shooting it was very frustrating

Have you gone into the GV Licence Software and deactivated either online or offline?
The offline activation is fiddly, but might work if you're having problems with online deactivation.

Have you changed your OS or hardware lately?

what is the exact version you are installing?

you may want to uninstall EDIUS and then uninstall the GV License manager

make sure temp is empty

install EDIUS

Installing version 7.5

Uninstalling the GV License Manager solved the problem. Reinstalled and re-entered the serial number. Nothing changed on my system to cause this, except for the usual Windows Updates. Not sure of the cause, but the only way to solve was uninstalling the GV License Manager and letting the full install do a reinstall of the Lic Mgr. Thank u!

it is possibly a Windows update that did it, I have automatic updates disabled on all my PC and only do it manually every so often, and never install optional updates
