I will ask again, what is the purpose of exporting?

    1. to give to someone
    2. to keep for future editing
    3. to make a DVD
    4. to make a Blu-ray
    5. to put on YouTube or vimeo?
    Yes to all 5

      ouch......

shooting progressive is not ideal for DVD

in any case, one exporter will not serve all 5, you need to do several exports to various file versions to serve all 5

so as far as this post goes, what is the current need for exporting where EDIUS fails? your latest screenshot shows you are using again recently used, and this time an AVCHD writer, what will be the next step once that is completed?

Sorry about that, that was an old screenshot. As I mentioned today I will start fresh only from the left hand side of the print to file menu. Yes, I do see and fully understand why I should only select from the left hand side of the print to file menu. How did I miss that....

As far as my primary exports are concerned. I want to give to customers so that they can watch on their TV or computer. According to your instructions before, you told me to use MPEG 25mbps. When I use that setting sometimes I have problems and that is the reason I moved to H.264/AVC.

I wish there was a video thoroughly explaining all the settings on the left hand side of the print to file menu. Some of the settings are self-explanatory but most are not.

Thank you for the tip of not shooting progressive for DVDs

You are a very patient man Anton, and I thank you so very much for always working so hard with me. I have to go to work right now but if you could please answer the above question I would greatly appreciated and get back to you after work.

        Thanks again, Michael

the only reason you would get complaints about mpeg2 25mbps for TV viewing is if you exported from a 1440x1080 project setting instead of 1920x1080

so if you shoot 1440x1080, always edit in a 1920 project setting, it will be fine and look fine all the way to the customer

No doubt you are right concerning mpeg2 25mbps. I will give it a try again and make sure that my previous settings are properly tuned to engage proper end product.

Please notice in my screenshot the Average(bps). Is this something Edius selects for me or should I select 25M because I'm using mpeg2 25mbps?

I acknowledge and made the proper settings for 25M and closed GOP.

Do you have any suggestions what should be done with the Maximum(bps)?

I select CBR, so maximum will not be used
