Sorry to rant,

but I find the search function on this board here about useless. Is it really necessary to protect the board with a , what 6 digit pass key.?

I literally have typed those entries numerous times, and get a failed response,
and have TO STAR OVER and OVER AGAIN.

Is it case sensitive? Does it cache the last failed entry?

I really dislike this direction of searches in general, but this one is about the worse.

Would a 3 digit entry suffice?

Yes, CAPTCHA is necessary, unfortunately. To project these forums and to keep them running.

However, if you are logged into the forums, you should not require entering a response to the CAPTCHA request. In fact, you shouldn't even see it.
