each clip has its own layouter, so you need to do each clips layouter setting, one at a time

Anton this has been a great project but some more info is needed :

Now I have the layouter tool open and I can see all 3 clips side by side , but if I want to make adjustments to clips 1 / 2 / 3 respectively I have to keep on closing the layouter and reopening it just to make adjustments to each clip respectively .
Is there a way to make adjustments to the clips without closing and reopening the tool ?

    Thanks.

please describe what you want to achieve, do you mean any of the three clips animating (growing) to full screen? if so, that is easy, but I will wait for your response

6.5 has the same layouter as 7.5

you can do red arrows with any screencapture software and in EDIUS you can do it with the titler

Thanks again Anton , I'll start practicing soon and try to get things working like you explained . . . . . by the way it's quite a coincidence that you used the " red arrow effect " to point out the percentage boxes etc.
I saw a friend of mine using the same kind of effect ( red arrows ) in another NLE , how is this done in Edius ?

    Thanks again .

btw, EDIUS8 also works with the 32 and -32% position, but the EDIUS8 layouter randomly changes the anchor point as seen in my screenshot, once the anchor point is changed to 0%, the 32% position will be accurate

    I will report this

select the clip on V1 and press F7 to open the layouter or double click layouter in info palette

if using EDIUS 7.5 and earlier, use 32% x position and -32%

if using EDIUS 8, use 47% x position and -47% because EDIUS8 calculates strange

then add the V 2 clip and make the setting

then add the V3 clip and make the setting

Anton ! you are one of the best man ( mate ) . . . . by the way where do I find the " size " to set the percentage rate ? I've been looking but I can't locate it.

    Thanks again Anton.

place clip on V1, open layouter, set layouter on top right to % value

V1: set to 30% size and set x position 32%
V2: set to 30% size and leave in default middle position
V3: set to 30% size and set x position -32%

    started a topic This is a tricky one . . . .

    This is a tricky one . . . .

I've got clips on V1 / V2 / V3 and I want to display the clips in a " three ( 3) box " . . . side by side horizontally in the source / record monitor . Is there method and / or formula for scaling each clip to a certain measurement so that they fit evenly next to each other in the monitor ?

    Thanks ?
Working...
