  • Extract/display timecode from AVCHD

I have Edius set to show source timecode from DV/SD video and it works fine.

I am now trying to do the same from AVCHD source video but without luck. I have ticked the box for "Get timecode from Picture Timing SEI" under System Settings > Importer/Exporter AVCHD.

I have tried both the Source Browser and importing the traditional way from the SD card - it only shows lines when hitting Control + G.

    What am I missing?

    Thank you,
    Ervin @ www.AtlantaLegalVideo.com

    My apologies... all my mistake.

Camera was set to MP4 instead of AVCHD - works as expected with the right source material.

Actually... I do have a question...

When displaying source timecode in Edius, it shows a nice and clean... well... time code... as expected (or date and time, settings dependent).

BUT, when burned to exported video, it puts the letters Src in front of the timecode - I suppose Src means "source" as I have Edius set to display source timecode (as opposed to sequence timecode).

Is it possible to loose that "Src" in front of the timecode?

      Thanks,

You can turn off the Source timecode in User settings > preview > on screen display > Show export > source information uncheck

Does that do what you need?

Nope, not what I am looking for.

See below picture. In the edit window, source time code displays as set - in this case I have it set for both date and time. But when exported, Edius puts the letters Src in front of the date and time.

I want the Src part of that to be OFF while displaying the date and time just like it displays it in the edit window.

Go to User Settings>Preview>On Screen Display>Show Normal Edit>Label.
Un-check the Label tickbox and see if this gives you what you want.
The screen shot is from an exported h.264 file with timecode.

Keep in mind that turning this off also turns of the REC and PLY identifiers as well.

                  Hi Jerry

exported TC will always display Scr if the export TC is set to show source TC

if you set to show timeline TC, then Scr won't be shown as in your example
