I may have made a mistake loading a "User Manual" before downloading Edius 7.5_.0191_Updater.exe FULL INSTALLER. I fear this may be causing some problems. I try to install the UPDATER to the full install and when I do this, I am taken to self extractor which says "Welcome to Edius UNINSTALLER wizard and I believe asks me to DEACTIVATE MY LICENCE. Is this normal? Am I LOSING one of my license activations? Is it better to UNINSTALL EVERYTHING and start over or does that also affect my number of activations?

I've installed the Full Install already. When I try the 357 updater it brings up uninstall wizard then wants me to deactivate. I am confused by this activation limit because I've been using the Dongle till now and do not want to waste an activation before ever using this product. Does uninstalling everything waste an activation license? I'm trying to get this right the first time because I had a lot of problems at the end of version 5.51. Thanks for a reply.Edius 7.5. License manager says version 7.
Program says 7.5 when I open it.
Manual that I downloaded that worries me (because I installed it prior to Full Install of 7.5) says Hardware Guide 7.41.
This is why I am thinking of starting over.Last edited by Edit; 08-12-2015, 02:08 AM.Edius 7.5. Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit. Nvidia G Force 9400GT - 1 GB Video Memory. 8GB RAM. Direct X10. I cannot open Edius Help Menu because I have not yet set up Edius. I only installed it. Both the Full Install and the 357MB Updater are # Edius 7.5_0191_Updater.exe which is shown on the GV Download page.Edius 7.5. Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit. what is the full name of the full installer you installed?
the 191 updater is to be applied to older versions of EDIUS7 and not the full version of 191Anton Strauss

ok, I need to ask the question, why would you want to update the full installer? it is already the same as the updater?
updaters are for full versions with a lower number than the updaterAnton Strauss

Their instructions told me I need to install the Full Version first then to install the updater after that. Much of this is new to me and it seems they could make it easier for novices. Can you answer the question about activations? I am concerned that I may have made a mistake by installing a previous Manual before downloading Full Install. Does it affect my permissible activations if I just uninstall everything and start over fresh? I prefer to do things properly the first time and not have to solve technical issues later. The manual has no effect on the installation.
You are currently running the latest official version.
Do not run the update at this moment.
Start Edius and enjoy. ......Tony D.

uninstalling and choosing deactivate does no harm either, but you can only do it three times per month, if you exceed that you need to call support to reset the license counterAnton Strauss

Thanks for your input. Is there a reason why they instruct you to do things a certain way when those instructions really do not matter? This should be a much simpler process as witnessed by all the questions that have been posed since they started this upgrade promotion. They really need to hire more competent writers. Then this forum would not be as cluttered as it is with questions such as mine.Edius 7.5. Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit. Nvidia G Force 9400GT - 1 GB Video Memory. 8GB RAM. Direct X10.
