Hey I found my own solution to this issue I was able to Drag and drop a MXF file into a Stratus Bin and it created a proxy 100% of the time so no issues thank you

Do you have Vantage?
Are these on an external archive drive? Have you tried loading them into an EDIUS Hi Res machiNE and Registering as a K2 asset?

Andreas this is a STRATUS Broadcast situation, so the normal production questions will not apply.

What is "raw footage"? I was asking for the codec.
How has the footage been created? By what camera?

I am confused. You said import external drives file into EDIUS then you mentioned trying STRATUS rules. Are you trying to import the footage into STRATUS and use EDIUS XS? I would ask if you really were trying to import into EDIUS Elite, but that makes no sense. You would not need proxies for that.

MXF is a container format only. It can hold different audio & video codecs & multiplexing / packetizing can be follow different specifications.
So please tell us, what is inside the MXF? Use Mediainfo for analysis.

How to import OLDer mxf files
Hello all;
I have 7 TB of USB external Hard Drives that have older .mxf file footage on them and I would like to import them to Edius if possible.
I have tried hot-bin import, source browser, and creating rules in Stratus and none have worked meaning they did not create a proxy every time about 40% of files created a proxy.
If anyone knows how to do this any help would be appreciatedTags: None
