  • Edius SP 24bit wav files

I am unable to open SP captured wav files in Soundforge 9

I need to first export the captured wav to 16 bit before Soundforge can see them

what is so special about 24bit Edius SP? are they a Canopus only readable file?

for non Edius SP users, Edius SP captures 24bit audio when capturing D1 through component or S-Video or Composite

I capture lots of D1 from Betacam SP etc..

    Hi Anton
Hadn't tried this before, but I have just checked and you are right. Neither Wavelab (latest version) or Sound Forge (in my case, version 6) will open the Edius/SP 24 bit file, whereas they are perfectly happy with the 16 bit export.
