Where do you find DVD creator? It doesn't seem to have come with my Edius - the option is greyed out when i try to "print to DVD" and i cant find it anywhere, including the Canopus site.

    Thanks in advance

Is your project settings compatible with DVD spec? Which Edius version?

I think my settings are right but i dont really know what they should be. I am using Edius 4.52 and the timeline is Generic OHCI SD PAL 720x576 25p 16:9 for testing purposes. The real project i want to burn is HD 1080 but i want to burn a SD DVD.

      Any ideas?

I think you should try 720x576 50i, maybe 25p is not DVD compatible.

Yep, that did the trick, thanks for the tip.

Strange that i can only export to DVD from 50i.

            Nice work GV!

            Can someone else confirm this...

Canopus DVD Creator now accepts HDV projects without changing projects to DV!

This weekend I edited a Same-Day Edit that we down-converted from the camera, edited and and burned from the timeline. (Encode+burn a 13 min. DV project in 15 min.)

Today I'm using DVD Creator to encode-only from a HDV timeline to a file to burn later. At this point DVD Creator estimates 50 min. for a 24 min. project.

If I'm not seeing things, it's a nice step sideways to help us HDV guys!

I believe this was always possible.

When encoding MPEG-2, DVD Creator can scale video down from a higher resolution, but it can't change a frame rate spec. 25p != 50i.

So, a 1440x1080/50i project should permit use of the DVD Creator export...it won't be greyed out.

                No surprise...

I've been changing project settings to DV... until now. Future Same-Day edits will probably edit in HDV, burn same-day in DVD and burn to Blu-Ray at a later date! Pretty neat!

Update... the 24 min. project really took 25 min. to encode. I'll burn w/Nero today.
