That's how the 4 titlers that I have installed all work. When you save it means you are done and want to return to the timeline.

TM pro had an export option that would keep the programme open...you could export to TMs icg and graphics options.

            I am not finished

Sometimes typing in a credit roll takes two hours. I want to save every 20-30 minutes so I don't lose what I have typed in.

Two hours is way to long to spend on a scroll, unless of course, you have included video and images with different columns and such. If you are doing this kind of work you should look into Vistitle. It allows you to import the text directly into the program scroll function. The more organized the text file, the faster the scroll can be finished.

You can download the trial here:
              http://vistitle.com/support.asp?pid=3&ty=22
Select the 2.5 installer notes link. then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the USA server. This will take some time to download.

Version 2.6 was just released. If you want to see some things that Vistitle can do, go here: http://sgdvtutorials.com/index-3.html
There are 3 tutorials for v.2.5 and 4 for v.2.6 all free.

Type up a txt file in your word processor and just import it into QT. Much quicker and easier.

You will still have to arrange the text order. It will be
                  faster than typing it in.

Not sure what you mean, but if you create a text file with each line of your title roll on a separate line, and import it into QT, you will have your scroll arranged the way you arranged the txt file. For additional line spacing add blank lines in the txt file wherever you want them.

Once imported into QT you can select your font/size/color. If you want some lines in a different font/size/color you will have to adjust them individually in QT.
Also in QT you can specify centering of the text if you wish.

It's all quite easy. If your credits are being supplied by the client, have them supply the txt file. Then any typo's are theirs not yours.

That works as long as the text doesn't extend outside of the margin. For example, copy the first paragraph of this page:
                      http://catdir.loc.gov/catdir/enhance...6042906-s.html
                      Have fun with that one.
This is a very easy function in Vistitle v.2.6.

The OP was referring to a credit roll, not scrolling paragraphs of text.
