  • If you Purchased your EDIUS 8 upgrade from SAFE Harbor READ IMMEDIATELY!!!

If you have purchased your upgrade from them and have not received your info and serial number, call them NOW! It seems that some of their replies to people did not go out from one of their email accounts. So your info may be stuck in email never-land.

You only have until Friday, July 31 to apply for the upgrade.

If everyone who purchased the upgrade has their dated receipt they should still be eligible for the free upgrade I would think.

I hope this is the case because I bought the upgrade this afternoon and I haven't received an 8 serial number or download link from them. I did receive an email that says:

We have notified the developer that you have purchased one copy of:
EDIUS Pro 8 Jump Upgrade (from v1-6.5 or Neo).
If necessary, the developer will be contacting you with additional information on how to download the software.

I'm a bit confused by this email from Safe Harbor. Will call them tomorrow which is July 31st.

Remember that just because you get the E8 upgrade that does not automatically give you the Workgroup update. You have to apply for it.

Can you please clarify, does it has to be applied for by the end of July 31 or just purchased by this date, as some have suggested in the 8 upgrade threads? Thanks. I'm scheduled to be on the road tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the serial by tomorrow and apply by the end of the day, but if not I was hoping that I can apply this weekend.

Personally I would make sure I had something in by end of day tomorrow. While there MAY be some very slight grace period, no one has officially said that.

Even if you did not have the serial number for the upgrade, I would send in the form explaining that and then follow it up when you do receive it. You certainly have a better case if you have a document trail in there are problems later.

Pat, here in the the DACH region the distributor clearly states that you need to purchase your update/crossgrade until July, 31st. But you can apply for the free Workgroup uprade until August, 31st.

Since MagicMultiMedia is the most trustworthy source I know I'm wondering why there should be different dates in different regions?

Christian, that information is correct. You must PURCHASE the upgrade by today, July 31. The Workgroup processing is open until August 31.

Does this only apply to the region where Christian purchased or also the USA?
I just got off the phone with Safe Harbor and they told me they have to get the download and the serial # from their distributor sometime today. My problem is that I will be traveling on the road today and will have to find a WiFi connection to make the application. I don't want to lose out if Grass Valley decides not to honor my application without the serial being included by the end of the 31st. Nothing like being late to the party lol.
