      Actually by default Windows updates is set to automatically install essential updates when installed. Most users who aren't having their systems managed by an IT dept don't even know how to change it, so your premise is false on that count.

      I see no relevance to how old the Edius is and Windows updates. One does not relate to the other. If anything having been speaking to many people who are taking advantage of the Jumpgrade I've found that everything else on their systems is up to date, they are just running on an old version of Edius.

      If you are connected to the net and using your system online then that old adage doesn't work and is very 'unwise' as you are leaving your system wide open to security breaches.
      We set all our systems up to allow essential updates as if you are connected to the net then you need those security updates to plug the vulnerabilities, and if you aren't on the net then it makes no difference as it can't download them anyway.
