I drop the HD clip on a 1920X1080 59.94 upper field and it looks good, no problem there.

HD files are fine. The SD files are bad.

HD & SD video, both are working fine here!
I've tested under version 7.50 build 211 (taken from public FTP).

I downloaded files both set to 59.94 Upper field in both HD and SD
Tried in 4.6 and 7.32 both fine.

I would suggest that the paper from Costco is better than Staples but hey ho.

What version of Edius are you using?

The person at JVC stated the problem is with SD files on older versions of Edius. I am running 6.08.
              Thanks,

It worked in 4.6? I am at a loss for words on this issue! I had a 20% coupon at Staples. I am running 6.08.

There is no good chance that GV would update old version 6.08 just to compensate late firmware changes in a specific JVC camcorders.
I would recommend you to update to version 7 or 8.

By any chance did you try the SD file in Edius 6.08 or 6.52? On the JVC update page it states issues with Edius 6 up to 6.52.
                      Thanks,

Sadly the solution would have been to update 5 year old software when the 8WG offer was on. It is bizarre that it is just 6* that JVC has a problem with but GV are not going to "fix" an issue with software that is 3 versions old.

It will be something to do with codec data, which causes issues with Edius decoder (it may be bug in Edius).
You can try re-wraping this file. If this helps than it's container if not than it's actual video data.
                          Re-wrapping is a good idea!
Here is an easy to use tool:
                          Video Container Changer 1.1
                          http://www.videohelp.com/software/Vi...tainer-Changer

Try MP4, MOV or M2TS container formats.
Not sure about PCM in MP4 if this will work since PCM in MP4 is a very uncommon & not explicit specified.

Another idea is to convert the files by free AVCHD2HQ tool.
May the last recent version of the tool does conversion based on the same way as Edius 7 does.

Thanks for your help. I was just trying to find out if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. I have resigned the fact that I cannot figure it out. I only shoot SD for depositions and any editing will have to be done in PP. There are no issues with HD files. I can also go back to the last firmware and all should be fine.

Here is a link to JVC. You will see what they say.
