We just got our first stock of serial numbers for EDIUS 7 to 8 upgrades today. We have more on back order and will be sending them out first come, first served of course. Once you get that people will need to apply for their Workgroup upgrade.

The good news is that they are starting to arrive.

I thought I had this figured out, but doubts are creeping in. I have E 7.5, have had it for a long time. I ordered the E 8 Pro upgrade from Safe Harbor a few days ago. I really do want the Workgroup upgrade for this. Now I have filled out and transmitted the "Free Upgrade to EDIUS 8" form at http://www.grassvalley.com/ad/edius_upgrade_800 .
At the bottom of that form I posted my E Pro 7 serial number, and the date and place of purchase of the Pro 8 upgrade and attached the PDF receipt for that purchase. The mismatch between the Pro 7 serial and the place and date of purchase for the Pro 8 upgrade, leaves me doubting that I understand and have followed the directions correctly. Did I do it right? Is there anything more I must do to get the Workgroup upgrade?

here in german, some people have it in the mailbox,
and some people find it (behind some search like "why you have and I not") in the "Spamm filter" from his provider....

You should have put your new version 8 Pro upgrade number into the serial number box

"To complete this form you will need your EDIUS Pro 7 serial number (or EDIUS Pro 8 serial number if you have one)"

Clearly I don't have a Pro 8 serial since I just ordered it and it's not shipping yet.

A lot of room for confusion here.

Serial numbers come from your dealer. Ask them to email them to you. Videoguys sent mine a few hours after I ordered. As soon as I received it, I applied for the Workgroup upgrade which is now installed and running well.

Only the original serial number comes from the dealer. The free upgrade to Workgroup comes from Grass Valley

No confusion from the GV side, you have to wait for your Edius 8 Pro number then when you receive that you put the Edius 8 number into the box. They want the serial number of the version you have just purchased. The confusion comes because whoever you purchased from sent out the information on how to upgrade before you received your new serial number. That's the dealers fault. We've only been giving out confirmation of the order and when the serial numbers come in then we are sending out all the information on how to apply for the upgrade along with a PDF copy of the invoice and the PDF containing the serial number which you have to copy into the requested box.
