There was. If you had purchased the upgrade to 7 in the promotional time period you would have got a free upgrade to 8 Workgroup, but all the offers finished at the end of July.
The free upgrade was only for those who purchased either a full Edius 7, or an upgrade, jumpgrade or crossgrade to Edius 7 within the specified time period.
