Dolby 5.1 Sound problem, Panasonic SD900

I am having trouble in Edius with the Dolby 5.1 recorded with the Panasonic HDC-SD900 camera (AVCHD codec).

I am probably not setting the channels up correctly in Edius 7. When playing back in the preview window all I get is considerable noise 6 channels are shown.
When the clip is placed on the timeline and played from there I seem to be getting 2 stereo channels of sound and one empty stereo Chanel, no noise.

Has anyone any experience of this. Any solutions/reasons.
