EDIUS NX Express system build PCI express slot requirements Please.

OK I am going to build an NX express system and I had chosen a Mobo But then thought of How many PCIE slots I needed and what speeds 16x 4 x 1x what does the nx board need.

There are two boards in the NXe setup so I would need 1 pci - e slot for my graphics card and for most boards that leaves 1 of the 16x slots then the rest of the slots are 4x or 1x.................

Board I had in mind was the ASUS P5K

So anyone know the requirements for the NX express setup. I thought I had this all sewn up!

NX Express only needs two x1 PCIe slots, not counting one that you'll need for the graphics card.

That P5K board has the right number of slots needed.

No matter which board you choose be sure to physically check to see that your graphics card will allow you to use the pci x1 slots for the two Edius cards and that placement of other items on the MOBO will not preclude use of your cards. Cooling pipes, memory, chip coolers, etc.

I just built on the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R. It has 1 PCIx16 and 3 PCIx1 slots. The cooling fan on the graphics card covers one of x1 slots. Everything fits - tightly.

Yeah - the physical fit can be a problem! are the NX cards LONG for factor or is it FULL?

Thought they were half FULL form factor cards - so fit would not be an issue!
